Despite the gloomy news, Kenya is still very much open for business, and very good value for an escape to the sunshine!
The areas to avoid are:
- Coastal areas within 150 miles of the Somalia Border
- Inland areas within 60 miles of the Somalia Border
- All sea areas off the Kenya coast unless on a well prepared and large motor vessel. (Small yachts are particularly at risk.)

This still leaves hundreds of miles of beautiful coastline! And with the scare-mongering in the press, prices are right down.
