Latest Airport News

Lateste update as of 14.30 Today

Most airports across the UK have re-opened today but Doncaster's Robin Hood Airport will remain closed until Sunday morning.

Gatwick re-opened this morning but urged passengers to check thier flights were operatiing beofre travelling to the airport. Some flights have been move to Stanstead.

Heathrow remained open throughout the bad weather, but it is warning passengers of possible ongoing cancellations and delays caused by disruption at other UK and European Airports.
at the moment, 25 outbound flights and 45 incound flights have been cancelled, mainly on short haul routes.

Stanstead is fully operational- with no cancellations so far.

Southampton Airport was the latest to re-open following extensive ice clearing programme, but the airport warned of contnued flight disruptions.

Robin Hood said ongoing adverse weather conditions meant it could not re-open until 10am Sunday 5th December. Passengers due to fly from this airport in the next couple of days are advised to contact their airline and/or tour operator.

Edingburgh Airport is open with some cancellations and delays. 3 flights so far have been cancelled.

Aberdeen is open with some cancellations and delays.

Humberside is re-opened. KLM flights to Amsterdam ahve been cancelled unitl Saturday morning.

Newcastle and Belfast Airport are reporting some disruption and warning passengers of to be prepared of changes to scheduled flights.

Other airports that have re-opened are warning passengers that it could take a few days before flights are back to normal.

Reported Airport Closure

Gatwick, Southampton, Edinburgh, London City, Humberside, and Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield airports are all closed this morning as severe wintry weather continues to sweep across the UK

After more heavy snow overnight and with forecasts of further snow, Gatwick will remain closed until at least 6am Friday 3rd December.

The airport said there will be no flights arriving or departing today, and passengers can expect further disruption, delays and cancellations as long as the severe weather continues.

It is advised passengers not to travel to the airport today and said those scheduled to fly tomorrow should check with thier airline before travelling to the airport.

Southampton Airport said it will be closed unitl at least 2pm today due to adverse weather.

Edingburgh Airport had hoped to re-open this morning but remains closed unitl at least midday today.

London City Airport's runway is closed until noon as snow flurries continue to accumulate on the runway.

Aberdeen and Glasgow airports remain open but flights are suffering some delays.

Heathrow is open but is warning of cancellations and delays caused by disruption at other airports.
