Tunisia, where to go

Tunisia stretches from the Mediterranean in the north to the Sahara dessert in the south.

Tunis, is in the North and is Tunisia's capital; it is also home to one of Tunisia's airports.

Tunis is a vibrant city contrasting modern with ancient in its architecture, with a labyrinth of streets to loose yourself in to the culture that is and was. Very much like any other foreign cities, thge city is full of people selling, buying and carting goods around. If you enjoy the city shopping life with a twist, it is worth have a look about. You can choose from fixed price shops or the challenge of haggling for a price.

Tunis is best enjoyed in the day time, with its best attractions outside of town; Carthage being the most popular and fascinating. The evening hubbub is full of strolling families and shy couples, while the younger more hip, head to the Mediterranean suburb of Sidi Bou Said.

The nearby picturesque coastal village called Sidi Bou Said, isn’t just for the hip to enjoy at night. Overlooking Tunis bay, with its whitewashed buildings and blue paintwork capturing that Mediterranean feel, is a must see for all, day and night.

It is impossible to not fall in love with this blue and white village, and once there you will be able appreciate why it is an inspiration to generations of artists.

The village itself is is cobbled streets with an array of cafés and small shops, to choose from midway to the top. Once you get to the top and catch your breath in one of the cafés, sit back and take in the view, over looking the marina.

looking further out, overlooking the Mediterranean before you start you walk back down.
