FAQs about Cancelled Flights

Here are just a few of the common questions we get asked about flights, cancelled flights and closed airports due to snow. For a full list please click the link to Airport Closure and Flight FAQs

Q. My Flight Has Been Cancelled Because of Snow. What do I do?
A. Firstly make sure you check with your airline that it is actually been cancelled. If the airport is shut then it has, but don't just assume your flight is cancelled because someone else has told you.  You then need to check with your airline if they are rescheduling your flight or if it is cancelled. If it is the later, then they should offer you a full refund.

Q. How do I check if my flight has been cancelled?
A. You can check the website of the airport you are flying from or check with their airline via their website or by phone

Q. How do I check if my airport is closed or open?
A. You can check the airport website, twitter or facebook pages. You can find a list of UK airports and their website here.

Q. It's snowing - is my flight cancelled?
A. Probably not. The airports will do their best to ensure they remain open and flights keep running. There may be some delays but you should still aim to arrive at the normal time even if your flight is delayed.
