Manchester Airport may run out of fuel

According to a spokesperson for Manchester Airport they will "probably run of fuel by 18:00 BST" today (6th June).

If you are due to fly from Manchester Airport this evening or tomorrow morning please check with your airline before travelling. Apparently this is only a "short-term" problem caused through their being an issue with the supply from Essar refinery at Stanlow new Ellesmere Port.

Manchester Airport uses about 3 million litres of airline fuel per day and this would be the first time it has ever run out of fuel.

Although not all flights will be effect Manchester Airport are saying they are pretty certain some flights will be effected and either cancelled, delayed or diverted to other airports.
