Just got back from a fab "educational" to Bulgaria. What an education! Twenty seven young travel agents let loose on Sunny Beach and Golden Sands...
We went to learn a lot more about the country - what its like, what the hotels are like, the differences between the different resorts etc. I will try to tell you all about it over the next few weeks.
I guess the main points we learnt were:
- Its very good value - both getting there and once there.
- It has a full range of styles of hotel, from very cheap and cheerful, to superb luxury.
- It has a good range of resorts, from the very young and lively to the more sedate and cultural, with some excellent family locations in between.
- The people are friendly and fun, without the pushiness of some Mediterranean destinations.
- The climate in the summer is warm and bright, but the landscape is greener and fresher than Turkey or the Canaries.
